Description

What can I say here... This is my first try painting something with a Pen Tablet :) I bought it yesterday so I didn't stand up until i draw something :)

I'm not really happy with the end result after 6-7 hours painting but i can say as my first digital painting it turned out to be good :) The left helmet is my painting the right one is the original.

So I'd like to hear your opinions and what else not :D

Like I said already earlier - it looks like you try to hard to copy the 2D image instead of creating a projection of a 3D object. As a copy, you did well, helmet's shape and general feeling is maintained. Maybe you could use a grunge texture or custom brush to add some additional noise (and with it - details) but it's a minor tweak, easy and fun to implement.

I see that you switched off opacity pen pressure jitter, or you got used to your tablet's pen pressure handling it very well :). And that's good. The rendering and color/values transitions looks natural. You might use some material specularity studies to catch the light reflection better, but this topic concernes me as well :). If I find some videos, tutorials or decent explanations I'll let you know :).
